For more than 35 years, I have served in leadership roles across international high-technology organizations, spanning sales, marketing, applications engineering, and general management. My career includes experience with companies such as Texas Instruments, AMD, Broadcom, and Analog Devices, where I was shaped by disciplined operating systems, technical rigor, and performance accountability.
Much of my professional life, however, has been spent in small- and mid-size growth environments. In those settings, I helped develop and execute go-to-market strategy, led cross-functional teams, carried P&L responsibility, and navigated the realities of scaling organizations through expansion, transition, and acquisition.
These experiences provided exposure to the operational side of leadership — not only strategic planning but also execution under pressure, team development, cultural alignment, and decision-making with real consequences.
In parallel with my professional career, I have coached youth athletics and currently serve as a high school and youth game official for boys lacrosse and football. Coaching and officiating have provided a practical laboratory for applying leadership principles — composure, accountability, discipline, communication, and teamwork — in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
The intersection of these experiences — corporate leadership and athletics — has shaped my perspective on organizational culture, behavioral standards, and performance consistency.
Today, in partnership with Focus 3, and through writing, public speaking, and select advisory engagements, I focus on leadership behavior, culture as an operating system, and the relationship between alignment and results.
I often describe an organization as a racing sailboat.
The vessel may be sound. The race strategy may be clear. The course may be defined. Yet performance can still fall short — not because the boat is incapable, but because alignment and execution are inconsistent.
Leadership serves as the captain and tactician, while the broader organization functions as the crew. When roles are unclear, communication is fragmented, and when standards are uneven, results fall short of expectations.
My work centers on strengthening the organization’s operating system — the race crew — its culture, behavioral standards, and alignment mechanisms.
The process begins with structured discovery: clarifying stated values, observed behaviors, decision norms, and performance expectations. From there, I provide practical frameworks leaders can use to reinforce accountability, increase clarity, and align culture with strategy.
Through writing, keynote speaking, executive forums, and select advisory engagements, I focus on:
The objective is disciplined alignment — ensuring the organization is tuned, coordinated, and positioned to execute consistently over time.

My perspective is shaped by more than three decades of operating experience — not from observing organizations from the outside, but from carrying responsibility within them.
I have led teams, owned P&Ls, navigated growth cycles, and worked through the realities of performance expectations at both large public companies and smaller growth-stage environments. That experience informs how I evaluate leadership behavior, culture, and execution.
I work with a limited number of organizations by design. Focus allows for depth — thoughtful discovery, careful listening, and practical alignment tailored to the organization’s context, not imposed from a generic framework.
Coaching has long been part of my life — in athletics and in business. Whether on a playing field or in a boardroom, the objective is consistent: raise standards, clarify expectations, and strengthen performance over time.
My commitment is simple: bring disciplined thinking, honest assessment, and practical frameworks to leaders who take responsibility seriously and intend to build something that endures.
